FitStar Yoga App Reviews

Great integration with Fitbit app.

I found this and the other fitstar app through fit bit. Together they are giving me variety and accountability with my fitness and health goals. The free components are great but the pay options are well worth the small fee. Looking forward to continuing my journey.

Um...

I had tried to open the app and it kept turning off.

Good but stopped working

This app requires 1G on my phone. It barely loads if it doesnt crash. This would be a very good app if we could reliably access content!

Love it but...

Tried this app for the month of January and loved it. I was ready to upgrade to premium for February and saw the Canadian price had jumped to $55. Seriously? How has the Canadian dollar affected this app? It feels greedy. Plus, there was no session for basic this week. Its such a great program, please do better!

Great!

Excellent app for someone who has had some experience in a yoga studio (novice to intermediate). The Fitstar team nailed again how to customize the sessions depending on user feedback. The poses given are the right balance of challenging and doable for my level of yoga. The price is right for the high quality service you get.

Great!

If only the premium wasnt so expensive...

Amazing! Best yoga app

Ive tried many yoga apps and they dont compare to this one at all! The fit star app is good also. There are great sessions that are free as well as ones you pay for. Just awesome. Very good videos to show you what to do.

Overall good, sometimes ridiculous

Overall a very good app. I use it as my main yoga app 3-4 times a week. I would say my practice is just getting to intermediate and yet the app will occasionally jump into advanced moves with very little support on how to get into it or alternatives. Like monkey (splits) or handstand or crow. Just go from downdog to any of those like magic. And it only gives you a few seconds to do it. I complained to their service and the only advice they could give me was to watch the pose in the app beforehand and practice. If this app has breakdowns of poses like yoga studio does that would be a lot more realistic. All that being said I still use it almost everyday so its not that bad.

Amazing

I am really pleased with the two sessions Ive tried so far. In just the basic. If it keeps being this good Ill get the premium for sure!

Its good to just start being active again

Its fun and gets me moving in the morning. The fact that you can customize your sessions as well is really helpful for me.

Volume?

Volume worked the first two times and then nothing after that

FitStar Yoga

I researched a substantial number of iPad yoga apps - FitStar is the very best app - the app is designed to focus on YOU - because of how you can customize your sessions -- yes customize - as you identify which poses are just right, too easy, too hard - nothing else on the market does that - the music and cueing is excellent - with screen information as well as voice. The annual fee is very very reasonable because this app is so packed with features and I do mean packed with features. I strongly recommend

Great yoga app!

Being very new to yoga I appreciate the visual and the simple instructions to every pose.

Good app

I like the app. It is what many of us have been waiting for. The instructions are easy enough to follow. I tried several sessions in Basic version of the app and enjoyed them. I just have a couple of suggestions regarding the length of sessions and the quantityof poses per session. First the length of sessions is rather short: ranges between 14-45 mins. Would be nice to have all sessions 1 hour long, which is how long a typical yoga class is. I dont want to bother looking for another session. Second: it seems to me that the amount of poses could be reduced in the session, but the length of time you hold the pose could be increased to make exercises more effective. Otherwise it seems rushed at times and I dont like being rushed at yoga class. I hope the developers will take these suggestions and make improvements in the future releases/upgrades.

Pretty solid, but room for improvement

I like the layout of the app, the price is fair, and how the app learns from your feedback. I really enjoy the tips provided during sessions such as "root down through your big toe" or "expand the chest, instead of crunching into your back" these are very helpful! Area of opportunity: 1. Build the app to work offline. This will include in-app algorithms which build sessions from video clips in the background based on user feedback. I travel abroad now, and have started in China. The internet here is intermittent at best, and expect it to get worse in other countries in SE Asia... If there isnt a decent internet connection for me to download these massive 300mb files, Ill simply stop my subscription. Id suggest including clips of each pose, then building the software to stitch them together, all included in the download. Or least make this an in-app purchase ***with a one-time fee!*** 2. Each time I do a session, I give the feedback on rating poses and rating the overall session, yet much of the session seems to repeat between dog down, down dog leg up, vinyasa A, various warrior poses and a couple other moves. Perhaps modifying the algorithms to incorporate more variety would be helpful. 3. Incorporate building your sessions. This should include a drag and drop process that gives loose instruction as to which type of move should come next ie. Obviously you cant go from supine to headstand, but one may go from childs pose to headstand. 4. Allow for choosing between different types/styles of yoga.

So far so good

Ive been using it a few days straight and so far its been really good. Ive already felt the difference since I do a session advert morning. I dont know if Ill upgrade yet but Ill keep doing this for now. Its amazing and I recommend it also for newbies like me

No sound on iPad

Dont know if Im the only one with this problem but there is no sound whatsoever when I use the app on iPad...

Love this app

I do yoga at the gym anywhere from 2-5 times a week. This app has allowed me to bring my yoga session outdoors at my own home and personalize the moves to what works best for my body and my level. I have only the basic one but thats all I need. It allows me to rate each move "too easy" "just right" or "too hard" and is very clear in describing the moves as well as demonstrating them and how to flow through from one to the other.. which is great for everyone from beginners to pros. Recommend this to everyone :)

Excellent at your own pace yoga app

Im loving this app. The freestyle sessions are varied enough to fit into a quick workout and are excellent in helping me feel settled, stretched, and in touch with my body. I use this app in conjunction with the Fitstar Personal Trainer and am able to complete a full body training session in less than 45 min! Love it!

Annoyed

I have been using the app (paid version) for about 8 months now. Good choice and variety of videos; however, the app is constantly freezing and glitching. The app also takes a very long time to load. This is very annoying and I cant understand why this hasnt been rectified yet. I will be searching for another yoga app.
