Very intuitive app which monitors your personal progress and experience level really well!
I have been using this app for a while now and I am very happy with it. I started back in December as a complete Yoga newbie and it has been a learning experience for me. Ive found that making Yoga a regular part of my fitness routine has greatly helped with my getting in shape. As I also use the original Fitstar program and walk a lot, I cant say how much of each activity has helped my weight loss or muscle development. I would give Fitstar Yoga all the credit for the vast improvement in my knees (which gave me a lot of problems previously) and a general feeling of well being that seems to come with using the program regularly. I do pay for the premium membership which, based on the cost of even a weekly session at a yoga studio in my area, is well worth it. I do 5-6 1 hour sessions a week with it. Fitstar Yoga responds to you! Besides having customizable options to make your session longer or shorter, tougher or easier, it also takes your feedback and customizes you session. It is fitness oriented Yoga so has less spiritual stuff and is focused on the moves and your health. Just like a class it will take a while to master the moves, being able to rewind (unlike a class) helps a lot! In the few months Ive been using the app Im already noticing improvements in balance and flexibility. The app does still have some bugs and this would normally cause me to drop at least one star from my rating. But I can honestly say my Fitstar Yoga sessions are my favourite fitness activity so I feel it deserves the full 5 stars despite the minor issues. The good folks at Fitstar have released regular updates as well. Some behind the scenes tweaking the Yoga, some adding new moves, and a few app updates with bug fixes and tweaks to the UI. The good: 1. Cheaper then any other yoga class in my city. 2. Ability to rewind if I dont get what the move is upon one viewing. 3. I can do it anytime! 4. It will personalize to my ability. 5. I can do everything privately. The Bad: 1. Some audio instructions are wrong in certain sequences. 2. Sometimes it moves to fast. 3. A few other small hiccups here and there. 4. While not clearly mentioned ahead of time when I got the App and payed for premium, Blocks and a strap (or in my case an old tie) are essential for beginners like myself.
Best yoga app available. Really intuitive interface and instruction. Too bad the AirPlay is so finicky.
Really great app! I love that it has the video in case I need it, but talks you through just like in a class. Its really nice!
This app is perfect for doing yoga at home or anywhere. Ive recommended it to all my friends.
After seven months bed rest after falling down the stairs this is exactly what I need to get myself back together again. Thank you! I love it and feel hopeful again. Adore this app and highly recommend buying premium! 5++
Just like a class. Has voice guidance, shows the poses through great videos, its beautiful visually, and has A LOT of free and amazing classes. Just keep your eyes on the videos at first to see the positions of your extremities so you know you are doing it right :) and BREATHE through every movement.
Got sound! Had to change the mute button in settings. Never had that happen on other apps!
I freely admit that I love the app itself. But I cannot get any support. Having problems with premium, paid until January 2016 but cannot access premium programs. :-( will update and adjust review if/when I get help.
Sessions are the perfect length, easy to follow, great videos.
I really enjoyed this app when I first downloaded it. The videos are informative, thorough and there are plenty of free specialized routines to go through. After the latest update however the app either wont open, or it takes forever to load and the randomly logs out of a session. Please fix this!
Easy to use, all the encouragement you need to do yoga at home alone or with a friend.
App functions very well .. Nice flow and freestyle sessions to spice up the routine :) highly recommend for home workouts !
The audio volume is an issue and the app ended up taking a lot of space on my phone. I would agree the fee to purchase additional is high. Also it takes a while to download. The content is high quality though!
I never really got to try the app because it takes forever to load just the introductory video, leaving you to watch a bunch of people sit down for two hours. It eats up all your battery because its constantly trying to load the video and just cant. Not impressed.
The load times are ridiculous for all the videos I tried. Im on full cell signal and full wifi currently, and it would take nearly twenty minutes to load a single video.... Then it would freeze and not load anything. I like the idea of it being connected to my Fitbit, but its not at all practical for getting in a quick workout.
With a champ like 88 on board, its a slam dunk, over the posts, after a huge Falcons touchdown. Rise up.
Ok I feel a little silly about my previous negative review, which I wrote before I apparently knew how to work the app...the shame! Yes, load times can be high, but each session automatically loads for you once you complete the last one. So, if you are doing yoga once or twice per day, your next session should be ready for you when you go to do it. Im in love with this app now that Ive figured that out, and signed up for premium so I can have the tailored sessions every day... This is way better than other apps that only have the single recording for whichever routine you are doing. Its much easier to stay focused and motivated when doing a new class each session. Even if you dont sign up for premium, you still have access to a decent amount of freestyle programs to keep you going in between your weekly tailored sessions. Overall I cant say enough good things about this app... Except for maybe that I got this to pair with my Fitbit, but havent noticed it actually sharing data. Not a huge deal overall, the pros heavily outweigh the cons for me.
The basic, is not basic. The voice guide was not helpful when trying out new poses. Im know very little about yoga, and it seemed to go from nice easy basic to very difficult without position explication or alternative if the pose was too difficult. I loved the fit star work out, because there was advice on how to do each move. Fit star yoga seed to have a "you should know this" attitude. I found myself getting angry at her voice. Frustrating. Not motivational.
I am not incredibly experienced with yoga but find this app easy to use. The guidance is simple and straightforward, and I like being able to give feedback related to how difficult or easy I find each pose.
